The Swan and Flowers Hand Embroidery Project (December 2023's Hopebroidery Box)

Updated: Dec 7, 2023

Here's what subscribers to the Hopebroidery Box are stitching with me in December! December's project features a soothing swan surrounded by vines and flowers.

Hope holds up an embroidery project featuring a white swan surrounded by florals in shades of yellow, blue, and white, stitched onto a dark teal cotton fabric.

To create this design we'll be using just four shades of Sublime Stitching floss on this deep teal color of Kona cotton fabric ("glacier"). You'll learn how to fill in a complicated set of shapes using a textured technique; how to outline shapes to create more defined details; and loads of stitches for creating fun, colorful floral wreath-like designs.

As always, subscribers will receive all the supplies you’ll need to complete this project. For this project, supplies include full skeins of Sublime Stitching floss; a large cut of this month’s fabric; embroidery needles and my favorite metal needle threader; a white water-erasable transfer pen for transferring your pre printed pattern to fabric; four inch bamboo embroidery hoop; and a pair of embroidery scissors from Kelmscott Designs curated specifically for this specific project (take a look at this project's selected scissors in the photo below!). You’ll also receive the project’s digital pattern, which includes a link to your project’s step-by-step instructions via a thorough video tutorial on the very first page.

New subscribers have until the end of November, 2023, to sign up in time to get this project at the subscriber rate, and your box will ship in very early December. if you haven't subscribed yet, be sure to do so by the end of November!

If you're here late, or maybe you're not interested in the subscription model -- both of which are perfectly fine, of course! -- you can still stitch this with me! Once subscribers’ boxes are in the mail, I’ll be able to add this project as both a physical kit (with or without this month’s scissors) and digital pattern (included with the physical kit, but perfect on its own if you already have plenty of your own supplies) in my shop!

I'm so excited for this project, and I can't wait to see what you make!

Happy stitching!
